I've never been very good at lighting, so I worked on it some tonight with Kelli.
Above is the shot I liked the most. I played with it in Photoshop a little bit. The picture below was my first attempt.
I'm realizing that I just naturally try to light things for video, but I think lighting for photography is a different beast. To get the shot I ended up liking the most, I moved behind where Kelli is standing in the second photo and lit her using the light from inside the house as well as from the outdoor light.
That angle ended up creating some nice shadow on her face, which isn't my first instinct, but that's something I'll just have to work on.
